When it comes to ENT endoscope, most people would think of ENT departments in hospitals, which use it to inspect and treat human ears, noses, and throats. But do you know about ENT endoscope for pets and its applications? Let’s explore the ENT endoscope in the pet world together.
With the continuous development of medical technology, more and more pet hospitals are involving endoscopy technology, among which the ENT endoscope is relatively common. It is mainly used for examining the ears, noses, and throats of pets, allowing doctors to visually observe the cleanliness, inflammation, foreign bodies, and pathological changes of the ENT or other cavities. What are the specific applications?
Applications of ENT endoscope for pets: ENT endoscope for animals is used in the examination and diagnosis of oral, ear, nose, throat, and digestive system diseases in dogs, cats, horses, cows, marine animals, and other animals.
1. Otoendoscope: The incidence of external ear diseases in dogs is quite high. With the use of an otoendoscope, it is convenient to inspect the external ear due to its accessible nature. At the same time, it can also be used to treat ear diseases such as flushing the ear canal, sucking out and removing foreign objects, and incision of the tympanic membrane.

2. Nasoendoscope: Nasoendoscopy can be used to diagnose various diseases in dogs and cats, such as nasal discharge, epistaxis, chronic sneezing, suspected foreign bodies, and obvious pathological changes visible on X-ray. It is generally divided into a rigid endoscope or a flexible endoscope. The multi-purpose rigid endoscope provides the best optical image, allowing biopsy and removal of foreign bodies. It also has a working channel and flushing or suction capabilities. The flexible endoscope, on the other hand, can be used for posterior nasal examination (the flexible endoscope is inserted into the nasopharynx through the mouth to visualize the posterior nasal cavity).
3. Laryngoscope: Used for laryngeal examination and endotracheal intubation in medium-sized or large animals.
